Lychee
Lychee is a sweet-floral fruity accord recreating the rose-tinted juice of the tropical fruit. The note is recreated synthetically because the fresh fruit yields no extractable oil. It is signature in Chloé Eau de Parfum and Mugler Angel Nova.
About Lychee
Lychee (Litchi chinensis) is a small tropical fruit native to southern China, with a translucent white flesh and a distinctive rose-floral juice character. In perfumery the note is entirely synthetic — recreated through molecules including damascone, frambinone, and various aldehydes that approximate the fruit's rose-grape sweetness. The note exploded in popularity in the early 2000s as the signature opening of Chloé Eau de Parfum (2008) and forms the fruity heart of Mugler Angel Nova, Lancôme La Vie est Belle, and many modern feminine fruity-floral compositions. It pairs naturally with rose, peony, and white musk.
