Fragrance Note
Myrrh
Myrrh is the resin of the Commiphora tree, yielding a deep, slightly bitter, balsamic aroma that pairs naturally with frankincense in religious and meditative compositions.
About Myrrh
Commiphora myrrha grows as a thorny shrub in arid regions of Somalia, Ethiopia, and Yemen. Resin tears are collected and either solvent-extracted or steam-distilled. The aroma is darker and earthier than frankincense · slightly bitter, balsamic, with subtle sweet undertones. Myrrh anchors classic Christmas/oriental compositions (Diptyque Eau Lente) and modern niche resinous fragrances. Often blended with frankincense, labdanum, and benzoin in the classical "amber" accord.
